Farmers, scientists aim to manage risks of nitrogen fertilizer
Researchers at the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan tested the urea fertilizer, which helps feed two-thirds of the global population. After adding it to farm ponds, they found the product degraded water quality and is a widespread threat to freshwater sources.
