Good morning tooters. A little bit cooler last night at 8c & a big pea souper fog to wake up to. It was very quiet & eerie out at dawn. I slept a bit longer last night not waking until nearly 7am. Today it’s supposed to reach 19c again & there will be sunshine ☀️ - yaaay - it will be lovely.
Not so many feijoas on the ground this morning either, I haven’t even been out to pick up what I can see. I’ll do that job once I’m home for a walk that I have decided to do as soon as I’ve had a shower. I’m looking forward to it. Just my regular round the river walk. I now have two full containers of dried feijoas & I’m not sure there will have enough to dry another lot, I’ll have to wait & see. Not planning much else for today just at home puttering around - I’m a good putterer 😁.
Wishing you all a happy #Thursday, stay safe & warm & hoping you have sunshine 🌞 🌻. #Weather #Exercise #Feijoa #HomeGrown.
It coulda been nice had I ran/exercised last night but I didnt so whatever...

It's still so bloody hot in the UK but at least it has cooled down a bit tonight, so I'm off to do my stairs exercise right now rather than in the morning. I prefer exercising in the morning, but the mornings are too hot so better in the evening than not at all.

Does Exercising in Cold Weather Strengthen or Weaken Your Immune System?

When the temperature drops, the temptation to take your workout indoors—or hit pause entirely—is real. For decades, a persistent myth has circulated around winter fitness: “Don’t exercise out in the cold, you'll catch a chill and get sick.”   But does exercising in cold weather actually weaken your immune system, or does it brace your

Why moving about is key for children's health - and happiness

Children are less physically active than they used to be. Scientists are finding effective ways to encourage children to move more, leaving lasting benefits on their health.

I quite often do a "walk at home" type workout as a change to the boring resistance bands or yoga. I really need to try and move more, I can feel my strength going more often and I do not like it.

So this morning I put on a different workout at home, all to music from the 70s (hurrah for good music). Its, I think, 9 songs, about 2500 steps, and 22 minutes long. Other ones I do are speed walking, that are 7000 in 40 minutes.

I've not even made it halfway through the 70s one and my hip has seized up, my heart rate is through the roof and I've had to sit down before I collapse. I'll take a break for 5 minutes and try to continue it.

I can manage the speed walking one with ease most days, so why is something far shorter and easier killing me this morning? Maybe my body is just needing a rest after yesterdays chaos.

I hate what osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and FND have done to my body. I really do miss the days of being able to walk for miles upon miles without effort. I will not let it get me down though, and I will keep trying, I really need to keep what strength I have left.

I now have no feijoas on the kitchen bench. All are now in the dehydrator & a few tops & tails in water to see what happens. Apparently making feijoa gin is super easy, buy some London gin & infuse with feijoas 😃. There are still more feijoas on the tree & I will dehydrate most of them because they are delicious. #NaturesLollies #Feijoas
Standing at the kitchen bench for a couple of hours did nothing for my back & I needed to again do a yin yoga class. I was so uncomfortable I was thinking I might need to see the physio, but it’s done the trick & I’m fine once again. I’m so glad I came across this routine. #Yoga #Exercise.
Good morning tooters. A warm night again & 12c when I got up. Lots of low cloud & morning fog today, we also finally got a bit of rain overnight. Enough to make the ground very wet which is good. It’s going to get to a pleasant 18c but I doubt there will be any sun appearing.
As soon as I got up I had jobs to do. Now that it’s colder it takes a lot longer for my kefir to ferment & that was ready to be decanted & re-fed. My feijoas had finished dehydrating & I removed all of them & put them into a container - natures lollies. Then I got everything ready for the next lot which I’ll prepare after my shower. They are much tastier without the skin so it was worth the effort. I wonder if I could make feijoa gin 😃 - something to look into for next year maybe!
I did my yoga class in my lounge room yesterday rather than the spare bedroom. I can chrome cast it to my old tv, something I’ve only just discovered. There is actually a little less room in the lounge to allow some of the movement so while I found it worked reasonably well the only real bonus was having the larger screen. Back to the spare bedroom 😁.
Have a lovely #Wednesday everyone, stay safe, stay warm & I hope you have sunshine 🌻🌞. #Weather #Feijoas #Kefir #Exercise
