#ArtQuilt made with scraps. Silk on linen. Cut #freeform, no pattern, nothing bought. Linen base is scraps from an old shirt, silk is scraps from an unraveled thrifted rag rug. #reuse #recycle #quilt #quilting #TextileArt #Applique
#Repair on my son's torn flannel pajamas. I cut a piece of scrap silk to size and used double-sided, iron-on fusible web to adhere it and cover the tear. Silk is super strong despite its delicacy and is readily available at thrift stores (check the bin of cheap scarves!) Using this method you can cut a patch any size and shape you need. Always round the corners to prevent peeling. I sometimes also embroider around the edges to make the patch even more durable. Mending #reuse #sewing
Collecting pieces of #scrap fabric to make an #ImprovQuilt using raw-edge applique and hand #embroidery. I have no plan and no pattern, just want to play with colors and learn. #quilting #recycle #reuse #color #quilt
Went on a beach walk and found an amazing amount of beautiful blue tiles and pieces of #Seaglass. What a lucky day. #Beachcombing
#Baking #Lebanese #Christmas #cookies. These are shaped in hand carved wooden molds and are filled with ground nuts or dates mixed with sugar and rosewater. They'll be dusted with powdered sugar after they're baked. Absolutely heavenly. #Ma'amoul

#NYC #Knitters--Did you lose your swatch? I found this #knitted swatch in Hell's Kitchen, on the sidewalk on 10th Ave between 50th and 51st St. If it's yours, let me know and I'll mail it to you. #lost #knitting #found #Manhattan #swatch #NewYorkCity

#Knitting socks for a Christmas present. This is the first sock of the pair, so I need to knit faster! #stranded #colorwork The pattern is "Tree Farm" by Natalie Sheldon.
My weirdest #Seaglass find ever: two blue glass sculptures of babies' heads. Found on the same beach six months apart. They're about 1 1/2 and 2 inches in diameter. The beach is at the foot of a cliff where, 100 years ago, a huge estate once stood. I think the servants there threw all their old dishes and glassware off the cliff into the ocean because I often find bits of china and glass there. @blockforest here they are! 😂 #Beachcombing #Beachglass
