Are you a Canadian author interested in joining a group promo on Itchio? I'm setting up a bundle that will run March 1st to 15th and I'm hoping we can pull together 6 to 10 books to feature. NOTE: This promo is for books only. Accepted Genres: Anything but erotica. There are already tons of promo possibilities for that particular genre and I want to showcase other ones. Revenue & Pricing: The minimum price for the bundle will be set for at least $1USD per book. Percentage split for each author is set by Itchio and, depending on the number of books involved, this ends up being an even split between all books OR a couple of books end up with a slightly smaller percentage. I will do my best to make sure full-length novels get the higher rate if this happens. Please make sure your book is priced at $1.99 or more for the duration of the promo. Approval Required: About a week or so before the promo goes live, you will receive an email asking you to approve your involvement in the bundle. I’m through the majority of the most problematic chapters in Torment Surfacing (10 done, 6 to go).
It’s greatly rewarding to complete the draft of a novel, but I also find it rewarding when I polish a chapter each day. Too, seeing what’s possible each day inspires me to continue to the next chapter.
That’s target editing, my efforts paying me back daily with encouragement.

Oh yes.
I read in parallel as Reader & Editor. A few books I enjoyed when much younger have since left me disappointed.
Please note that Editor is quite forgiving, & story always comes first.
The experience of an excellent book can reduce Reader to tears & Editor to awe. A mediocre book disappoints Reader & Editor know why. A poor book means Reader wants to stop, but Editor is fascinated by the poor craft.

steering the emotional journey?
You mean, manipulate? I hope not.
What makes the emotional journey authentic requires fully realized characters (meaning they have depth, flaws, wounds, etc.), showing over telling, & a compelling character arc.
I’m oversimplifying a bit, but those are the basics. Combine that with other engrossing characters & a well-written plot & any “steering” happens naturally, which is how it should be.
