My online presence Here is mostly a tool to keep Up with other people politically. The Tags #covid / #corona and #climatechange are Close to my Heart. But Generally i want people in Power to act rationally - as propably Lovecraft did in His days.
Some people might be thinking how do i practice voice then? There's the practicing part, (where you read something with the voice you want) and the performing part (where you use it while speaking) and i can't combine the two in my case lol.
šŸš€Happy Star Trek Day to all! Stay safe out there ā¤ļøšŸ––

I was thinking about If #AI can get conscious for some time:
The conclusion should be, that AI cannot since a psychological Identity is needed while instead a kind of inner compass can be there. But If you want to continue the humanization, then AI can get thought organizing instead of conscious. Maybe that can be tested - the Turing test can be passed with an inner compass.

Finally put an end to this exsistential thought of mine, yay!

Having the #covid loss of taste and smell again and every time I eat something my head keeps bringing up the Lotr movie quote:

Sam: Do you remember the taste of strawberries?

Frodo: No, Sam. I can't recall the taste of food... nor the sound of water... nor the touch of grass.

With this virus, we are all Frodo.šŸ˜…

I’ve been silent for awhile, the extreme isolation, struggling to keep myself afloat and my child alive has literally broke me. My child recently turned 9. I’d like to say there was a celebration. Yet, it was just us at home struggling to get through the day.

There is no support system for chronically ill, disabled parents caring for disabled children who have chronic, complex medical conditions. We are either forced to tough it out while living in eternal isolation, or fear death by allowing caregivers in our home who couldn’t give a shit that their Covid exposure risk could literally kill us.

The ongoing abuse I’ve witnessed my child experience from structural ableism and medical providers. The weight of it all is crushing us, and there’s no one to hold unto, there’s no support network. It’s obvious abled folx and society would rather we just rot isolated indefinitely, ostracized, alone.

Remember these doozies?

Kids don't get Covid
then
Kids don't transmit
then
Kids don't get seriously ill
then
Kids don't get immune comprised leading to opportunistic infections like RSV
then
Kids certainly don't get Long Covid

Guess what? The often cited study used to justify dropping school protections has been fully retracted

Kids get Long Covid at a very high rate - we've screwed a generation

SARS-CoV-2 Selectively Induces the Expression of Unproductive Splicing Isoforms of Interferon, Class I MHC, and Splicing Machinery Genes

RNA processing is a highly conserved mechanism that serves as a pivotal regulator of gene expression. Alternative processing generates transcripts that can still be translated but lead to potentially nonfunctional proteins. A plethora of respiratory viruses, including severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), strategically manipulate the host’s RNA processing machinery to circumvent antiviral responses. We integrated publicly available omics datasets to systematically analyze isoform-level expression and delineate the nascent peptide landscape of SARS-CoV-2-infected human cells. Our findings explore a suggested but uncharacterized mechanism, whereby SARS-CoV-2 infection induces the predominant expression of unproductive splicing isoforms in key IFN signaling, interferon-stimulated (ISGs), class I MHC, and splicing machinery genes, including IRF7, HLA-B, and HNRNPH1. In stark contrast, cytokine and chemokine genes, such as IL6 and TNF, predominantly express productive (protein-coding) splicing isoforms in response to SARS-CoV-2 infection. We postulate that SARS-CoV-2 employs an unreported tactic of exploiting the host splicing machinery to bolster viral replication and subvert the immune response by selectively upregulating unproductive splicing isoforms from antigen presentation and antiviral response genes. Our study sheds new light on the molecular interplay between SARS-CoV-2 and the host immune system, offering a foundation for the development of novel therapeutic strategies to combat COVID-19.

The Joys of Gardening
I’ve sowed and mowed, and hoed, in pain,
I’ve seeded and weeded and pled for rain.
I’ve spaded and waded in mud to my knees,
And planted and pruned and watered the trees.
I’ve worked in the heat till my feet were sore,
And raked, and staked till I could do no more.
So, I’ll set back and watch, as row by row,
The flowers bloom and the vegetables grow.
I smile when I see how much I’ve done,
And sigh when I realize I’ve just begun.
Soon I’ll be picking, and digging, and toiling,
Canning and freezing, baking and boiling.
But all of the work was worth the pain,
Being in the garden keeps me sane!
