I wanna see if I could make more of this stuff weekly. It only actually takes me about 2 hours to do 80% of the work, but that perfectionism makes it last 2 days.

Anyways, not too proud of this one, but it's something. I'll probably come back to this scene later to see if I can redo it in the same amount of time.

(Now in 1080p60!)

GAME DESIGN DOCUMENTS SHOULDNT BE PAINFUL!!!

I've heard a lot of disagreements about what format, information, or people should be involved in writing a GDD. Since I started writing them again I felt like I should say my piece on this conversation.

There doesn't need to be a formal layout!!!

All game design teams have different strengths, weaknesses, capabilities, and priorities. Internal GDDs should be written to serve the developers instead of following traditional document layouts.

All games are unique, so your GDD should reflect that.

Although a bare minimum should also be conveyed, if you want a handy checklist and tips, I use this pdf as a pseudo-checklist.

As promised I made some #3dart inspired by my last post here...

I wanted to recreate a scene I had with some friends in front of a lakehouse beach. I think it turned out pretty well for a first try...

Please boost and fav if you guys want to see more!

Another #prototype I made a while a go. This one took the longest since I made most of the code by myself instead of basing mechanics from a marketplace preset.

This game is called Project: Andromeda, it was originally a platform for environmental story telling but I quickly realize the lack of knowledge I had for the scope of this project. So I ended up stuffing it into a closet for a few years.

Its pretty nostalgic coming back to these games after so long. I might pick it back up when I get a team.

Wanted to show off a game I made during quarantine a while ago. I found an interesting physics library and spent about 5 months fleshing it out.

The game is largely a "Work In Progress" pun intended and I'm planning on repurposing its concepts for a new game. (Comings soon but not too soon)

#introduction Time!

Hello World!

I'm Jyrell, otherwise known as Nubbelium online. A writer, artist, UNT student, and Game Designer.

I've been developing games as a hobby for about 5 years on and off and quickly developed a passion for gameplay prototyping and story writing.

I am now working towards a Game Studies Major at UNT in hopes of running my own studio: SpaceSushiStudios.

That's a little far in the future though, for now, I'm looking toward publishing my first game.

I'm currently proficient with #unrealengine as a #unrealdev but am now working towards learning #csharp and using it for #godotengine

For art, I use #clipstudiopaint and #photoshop

Thanks for stopping by and reading this intro! I'll link some of my works here, but look forward to more posts from me! I hope to meet some of the other #gamedev in this tiny corner of the internet!
