Apple to Europe: „Your laws are bad for us, therefore we are withholding unrelated features from your citizens and do everything possible to lobby against your laws.“

Apple in the USA: „We only follow the laws and orders of our authoritarian government, there is nothing we can do against it.“

Did you know it’s not just two journalists who’ve been shot while covering the LA anti-ICE protests?

It’s many more. They appear to be targeting the press. Trying to silence them. Dissuade them from reporting on what is one of the most important issues America is facing.

Does the country want to submit to a fascist authoritarian?

Or do they want to fight back?

LA has chosen to fight back. And journalists are showing up to cover it. As they should.

Adam Rose is keeping a running tally on a thread on Bluesky. Highly recommend checking it out.

here’s some of the injured:

Ryanne Mena, shot with pepper balls

Sean Becker-Carmitchel, hit multiple times

Anthony Cabassa hit in face with chemical munition

Ryanne and Sean were hit again the next day, with a tear gas cannister

No name has been given but reports of someone from KTLA being hit with less lethal ammo and going to urgent care

Lauren Tomasi hit with less lethal ammo

Nick Stern shot with less lethal ammo and requires emergency surgery

These people were clearly identifying themselves as members of the press

They were there to do their jobs

And at least in the case of Lauren Tomasi, there’s video evidence which appears to show an officer taking clear aim and firing directly at her

Say their names.

Speak up.

The public need to know the risks the press are taking just to attempt to bring truth to the masses.

The Regime have been attempting to silence, sue and throttle the press since day one.

We shouldn’t tolerate any direct attacks on them.

Sometimes you see an image so striking that you have to state plainly that there are concentration camps inside the US with kidnapped people in them suffering

US border officials are so twitchy and paranoid that they detained and imprisoned two German teenagers ...

... even though they'd applied for -- and received -- their electronic approval for a five-week visit

Why were they detained? Because they hadn't booked accommodations for their full five weeks

they'd figured they'd travel around a bit and make decisions on the fly ... *like tourists do all the time, in most normal and free countries*

Teenage German tourists deported from Hawaii over ‘suspicious’ hotel booking

‘We had already noticed a little bit of what was going on in the U.S. But at the time, we didn't think it was happening to Germans,’ Maria Lepère says

I was at the midtown Manhattan demonstration today. I don't know how large the crowd was, but it was large. It did skew older—my partner and I were not the only ones who were veterans of the anti-Vietnam War protests decades ago. But youth was well-represented, too, including a store employee who climbed into the store window to show a large “FUCK TRUMP” on her phone. There were very few preprinted signs, which made for a lot of creative homemade signs. They ran the gamut of issues, and of course there are many. (My favorite sign: “IKEA HAS A BETTER CABINET”.) Naturally, although Trump was the primary target, Musk came in for a lot, too: “F-ELON”, “YOU CAN’T SPELL FELON WITHOUT ELON”, “DEPORT MUSK, LOCK UP TRUMP”, and more.
Will Trump pay attention? No, of course not. But apart from the importance of showing up and being counted, I hope that members of Congress will see the anger. They've already learned that open town halls are a bad idea, and last Tuesday's election results had to be scary for the GOP.
(Photos? No, out of respect for the privacy of other demonstrators.)
