Last weekend, Your Party officially split, with 250 members voting to start a second leftwing party, the Socialist Federation. Neither Jeremy Corbyn nor Zarah Sultana represent this new faction, with both remaining in Your Party.

While many of those members are part of “Grassroots Left”, Sultana’s faction of Your Party, she has no role in the new party, and is still technically a Your Party MP. Corbyn’s faction, “The Many”, has de facto had the reins of Your Party since he was elected its parliamentary leader by the executive committee in March. Two independent MPs who originally supported Your Party, Adnan Hussain and Iqbal Mohamed, have quit, and two – Shockat Adam and Ayoub Khan – remain.

#GreenParty leader #ZackPolanski and #YourParty leader #JeremyCorbyn have joined calls for the #British government to investigate British citizens who have served in the #Israeli military.

Polanski signed an open letter organised by Declassified UK and the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) to Home Secretary #ShabanaMahmood and Foreign Secretary #YvetteCooper urging them to "track the movements of Brits who have served in the IDF" and "subject them to secondary screening where necessary at ports of entry".

The letter called for "robust war crimes investigations in line with domestic and international law".

Large parts of Sultana's faction have left the party to start a new political party called Socialist Federation, primarily over Corbyn's approach to leadership.

Sultana herself claims no knowledge of the new party and has distanced herself from it.
