Meanwhile in the UK's other by-election, the Conservatives have taken Aberdeen South from the Scottish National Party, with a campaign focussed on oil & energy employment.
Interestingly, while the SNP lost a little of their share of the vote, the crucial change seems to have been the collapse of support for Labour, with voters (apparently) switching to the Tories.
