Well those aristocrats have seats in parliament + the head of state is an aristocrat and has influenced laws.
So British aristocrats clearly matter (unfortunately).

and "new deal"? why a new deal? If the UK wants to join the EU, then it should officially ask to join like everyone else. The UK is not special and why should we treat them differently than other countries who want to join. Which usually takes years, even if things go smooth.

During the interval I found Manchester had a *second* protest for Trans Rights which seems to have been well attended. Sorry I was otherwise engaged or I'd have been there again.
