#ReformUK & #RestoreUK are already a two party system for #LittleEngland when it loses the captive realms. Let it happen. Only way to avoid it is purge all 140 MPs from #FabianSociety and get #JeremyCorbyn back. Only way. To just #OustStarmer for #AndyBurnham ain't fixing #LabourFriendsOfIsrael.

Fascist tactics: How Jeremy Corbyn's detractors are plotting to remove him

The Labour leader's opponents don't care about anti-Semitism. They'll just do anything to remove Corbyn

Middle East Eye

On Crucial local election day, where is Your Party?

“Just voted for three fantastic independent candidates in Finsbury Park who oppose austerity, stand up to racism and support the people of Palestine.

Today, a new kind of politics is on the ballot — and community power will win!” Jeremy Corbyn.

On Instagram a pitiful plea was made to Corbyn, “Please go Green 💚 🍏”

Your Party got a drizzle of publicity for backing the fief of Lutfur Rahman, the Aspire ‘party’ in Tower Hamlets, and a couple of other places in London:

“These include Tower Hamlets, which has been run by Mayor Lutfur Rahman – a member of the Aspire Party – since 2022, and Newham, where the Newham Independents Party has recently won several by-elections. There’s also Redbridge, where hopes are high for the Redbridge Independents who have won multiple by-elections from Labour.” My London.

Phil, who knows the scene properly, writes this very informative piece,: Yer Blues (5): Like any other candidate (Workers Playtime)

(Extract), “Looking at how this approach is playing out in the forthcoming local elections, I have to say it’s getting a bit Underpants Gnome: I can see what the leadership is doing, but I can’t see how it’s going to lead to building a party. In the May elections there will be approximately 200 candidates associated with Your Party, contesting seats in 39 local authorities. Specifically:

  • 24 Your Party candidates, contesting seats in 15 local authorities
  • 26 independent candidates endorsed by Your Party, contesting seats in 17 local authorities
  • 13 named groups of candidates endorsed by Your Party, contesting seats in 14 local authorities, with a total of 250+ candidates (updated 30/4 and 7/5 – thanks to Josephine in comments)

The great majority of ‘named group’ candidates – 200+ – are accounted for by five groups: Newham Community Independents, Aspire, Redbridge Independents, Your Bradford and Ealing Community Independents. (again, updated 30/4 – thanks JG)

I haven’t been able to get a precise figure for the number of candidates, particularly in the last category. This is for a variety of reasons. One is that groups of assorted ‘community independents’, while they are doubtless hard-working individuals and an asset to their local areas, tend not to have the organisational focus and work discipline of (oh say for example) Trotskyist cadre; while some of the ‘independent’ groups endorsed by Your Party have announced how many candidates they’re standing in May, others haven’t. Another issue is that the boundaries of the ‘independent’ groups are less than clear. Enfield Community Independents, for example, are standing 17 candidates and endorsing another 10 independent candidates: should we consider the ten independents as endorsed (transitively) by Your Party, or not?”

The Corbyn-led Party has, as a political force some placed high hopes in, wandered off into obscurity.

Not red on the inside, Carla Roberts gives the inside story in today’s Weekly Worker.

“Under Zack Polanski the Greens have attempted to redwash their policies. This has fooled many on the left, including some on the organised left. In reality the Greens remain a thoroughly petty-bourgeois party, says Carla Roberts.”

“Another reason the Greens currently loom so large is that the left is almost entirely invisible, in the aftermath of the implosion of Jeremy Corbyn’s Your Party. The decision to ban socialist groups was the last step needed to turn YP into what Corbyn wanted all along: an organisation tightly controlled by his right-hand woman, Karie Murphy, without any pesky branches that could bother the dear leader with criticism or democratic conferences, where members could put forward the kind of programme a real working class party would have to adopt to effectively challenge the system. YP will now be a mere, tiny footnote in the left’s history, another Momentum‑style, pointless organisation.”

……

Me, I voted Labour in the local elections.

Opinion :

"The anti-Semitism smear that ruined Corbyn’s Labour now targets the Greens

Zack Polanski must not repeat Jeremy Corbyn’s mistakes.

Until recently, the Green Party was on the fringe of British politics. Between 2010 and 2024, it had just one member of parliament. In the July 2024 election, which saw the implosion of the Conservatives and Labour’s rise to power under Keir Starmer, it managed to secure just four seats in parliament.

But the party’s fortunes began to change rapidly in the Starmer era. With the Conservatives and the Labour government now reduced to the mid-to-high teens in the polls, the economy on its knees, and anti-establishment sentiment growing across the political spectrum, the Greens have begun to emerge as a political force capable of challenging Nigel Farage’s Reform at the next general election. They are now polling at about 17 percent, level with the Conservatives and one point ahead of the governing Labour Party. They also won their first parliamentary by-election at Gorton and Denton, taking 40.6 percent of the vote. Membership has risen from 65,000 in July 2025 to about 220,000 today."
