How do anti-oncogenes work?

An oncogene mutation is not sufficient to cause an oncological disorder, because the body has protective mechanisms (anti-oncogenes).
Anti-oncogenes counteract oncogenes and create balance. But their action is considered effective if only one mutation is observed in the body. If we are talking about many mutations, then the action of the anti-oncogene is ineffective. When the anti-oncogene fails, oncogenes lead to cancer.

FOXP2 confers oncogenic effects in prostate cancer

FOXP2, encoding a forkhead-box transcription factor regarded as vital to proper development of human speech, was revealed to have an oncogenic potential and activate MET signaling in prostate cancer.
