The hardest part of beating cancer is the fear of it coming back. Learn how "Immune Surveillance" via NK cells acts as a 24/7 security system to mop up micro-metastases before they turn into a relapse. Here is the science behind reducing recurrence risk.

Cell Therapy in China: Costs, Legality & Options | MedBridgeNZ

Key Takeaways • Two Main Types: Cell Therapy in China is primarily divided into Stem Cell Therapy (tissue repair) and Immune Cell Therapy (defense/cancer fighting). • Legal Status: Commercial stem cell treatments are strictly regulated. The Boao Lecheng Pilot Zone is the only region in mainland China legally authorized for broad commercial application. • Cost Reality: Legitimate therapies in the pilot zone are premium services, often ranging from $5,000 to over $100,000 USD depending on the regi

Perforin is the substance T and NK cells use to drill into an infected cell and kill it. Selin and Gill’s studies suggest that ME/CFS and long-COVID patients’ T cells produce almost no perforin

[alt text: graphs of perforin in two classes of cell. The healthy controls are tall grey bars, compared to 1/10 to 1/3 as tall bars for Long COVID and ME/CFS groups.]

they also found

a huge increase in a distinct type of T-cell called double-positive T-cell (CD4+ CD8+) in people with ME/CFS and/or long COVID. Instead of being differentiated into the two usual major T-cell subsets CD4 (helper/regulatory) and CD8 (killer) T-cells, these hybrid T-cells look like both CD4 and CD8 T-cells at the same time.

Selin found that these cells increased 8-9 fold in ME/CFS and long-COVID patients.

which compensates in part for the lower perforin, but also led to

a “highly dysregulated” cytotoxic T-cell immune response [...] That suggested that the immune system was kind of flailing around, trying to come up with an answer.

“The scientists in the UK and NHS are now making very disturbing findings that add to the growing evidence that infection and persistence of the Covid virus could be one of the reasons for the increased rate of cancer that is being reported. Will be presenting material from highly regarded scientists that the virus persists in our bodies as long as 2 years..another hallmark of an oncogenic virus. This is an important issue to address and find a solution to the potential of a cancer pandemic globally #longcovid #immunetherapy #NKcells
