As an aside, if I’d seen the discussion about text-indent hanging at the time…

https://github.com/orgs/web-platform-tests/projects/3/views/1?pane=issue&itemId=40615541&issue=web-platform-tests%7Cinterop%7C538

… I would have signed up and replied to say that while the traditional workaround has been to use padding, this is *always* annoying because it introduces lots of extra problems and considerations that shouldn’t have to be dealt with when all one wants to do is indent the text.

Maybe support in Chrome will be reconsidered now that Safari and Firefox support it? @foolip 👋

Interop 2024

GitHub

It’s almost the end of 2024 and the Interop 2024 dashboard is looking pretty great! Take a look:

https://wpt.fyi/interop-2024

Great work! 🥳

Sadly text-indent hanging and each-line keywords didn’t make it into Interop 2024 as I had hoped they would…

https://github.com/orgs/web-platform-tests/projects/3/views/1?pane=issue&itemId=40615541&issue=web-platform-tests%7Cinterop%7C538

… and so another year rolls by without #Chrome supporting them.

Also... JPEG XL. It feels like a crime to the web that JPEG XL is only supported in one web browser at the moment.

@passle
Yes... totally agree!
Such a shame that URLPattern is not in #interop2024

So the focus areas for Interop 2024 have been announced. (See dashboard here.)

:gutkato_neŭtrala: JPEG XL has been proposed for inclusion, but ended up not being included. Guess we’ll have to wait a while longer (hopefully not even more decades) before we have widespread support for an image format that actually manages a substantial improvement on all fronts.

:gutkato_malĝojeta: As per usual, thanks to Google for being jerks and @mozilla for maintaining a neutral stance on the issue, which I can only assume is meant to ‘make the internet a healthier, happier place for everyone’ in some obscure way my mortal mind is too feeble to comprehend.

As per unusual, thanks to Apple for actually doing something right this time around and supporting the format!

Pretty miffed the proposal to finally implement `break-after: avoid` across all browsers was rejected for Interop 2024.

These bugs are 26 years old - older than some of my colleagues!

I’ll just have to keep prodding the bug reports and keep my fingers crossed they are fixed soon.
