The missing macOS web app viewer chromeless, highly opinionated

#orionbrowser #Webkit https://orionbrowser.com

"Orion feels remarkably similar to Safari, except with a couple of features you wish Safari had. Block ads and trackers without having to install a third-party blocker, open broken links automatically in the Internet Archive, use vertical tree tabs, and a whole lot more."

I'll Never Use Chrome Again: These 5 Browsers Are Worth The Switch - SlashGear

You probably use Chrome without thinking twice. That is exactly why these browsers are worth a look, they do things just differently enough to matter.

Trying to automate Tauri app testing on arch linux.

Currently faced an issue of webkitgtk not providing webkitdriver. Anyone knows which package already exists that includes the driver? I am searching over the web, but all I found is a suggestion to build it by myself, which can be okay, yet I think I just had no luck in finding existing package.

Ok, decided to give the Orion Browser public beta a try, and… Meh, has some promise, but its got a long, long way to go. Honestly for the people complaining about the lack of Linux browser choice, I'd ask why not contribute to or fork Epiphany/Gnome Web.

So, what's wrong with Orion?
Oy vey, that's a list…
Importing bookmarks doesn't work
Installed Bit Warden and uBlock, but neither extension works
Caused the composer to fail momentarily only to come back and freeze.

They did however fix the buttons problem, the open, close, etc buttons didn't work right in the Alpha apparently.

I'd say don't waste time on it.
