@squirtle If it was my decision, #Copyright would cease the moment the #IP holders refuse to sell copies under #FRAND terms!

  • Furthermore it should be illegal to claim "#damages" or otherwise demand #compensation if said content wasn't legally obtainable in the first place.
    • I wish someone sued for #piracy to actually take that stanc and have both backup and support to push this through all the courts!

@[email protected] this is really good, as #Moho is propably the only competition to #ToonBoomHarmony out there and being able to use it's competent #animation tools and just export to @[email protected] / @[email protected] / #GodotEngine will make it way easier for #IndieDevs and #SmallStudios to #GetshitDone and for collaborative teams to both #outsorce and #CrossIndustry - #collab on things. - Because Moho is an established tool for #animators and being able to simply import & export stuff makes things *so much easier*, because now different people can do their part in #GameDev in parallel and propably just sync it all via #git or whatever #VersionControl they use on their end. Furthermore this will drastically make it easier to get higher-quality #cutscenes done on a lower budget!

Previously they even forcibly bundled #licenses with #chip purchases ("no chip - no license") whilst explicitly not including #licensing as part of chip pricing just to maximize revenue & profit per customer!

@khleedril also #regulators like @EUCommission should actually enforce #portability requirements as per #DigitalMarketsAct and force providers to either provide #free #API|s and #documentation for all #users and #developers without #loginwalling or be #banned from the #EU for violating fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (#FRAND) provisions for #Interoperability.

IMHO #Copyrights and #IP laws should.mandate #FRAND legislation and be null and void if it's not possible to legally obtain permanent access/license to said content/product.

  • #Geoblocking and #RegionLocking should be outlawed as racist, discriminatory and anti-#ConsumerRights!

  • If a corpoation doesn't provide any means to legally obtain their IP, they should be prohibited from claiming "damages" due to #piracy in general!
