Only ~1/4 of the compute spent on the final model came from the base, the rest is from our training. This is why evals are very different.

This entire #rant shouldn't exist.
It should be with #screenings like with #music in a #club:
- You fill out a form
- Get a quote by the licensing / collecting agency
- You pay it
- You get a reciept
- If someone from said collecting agency ever shows up (which they almost never do at licensed events & -locations) you can just show them that and they'll wish you a nice day.
It's not a question that you want to properly #license that stuff…
- But there isn't even like an agency / #licensing brokerage one can just contact, maybe pay a premium percentage on top of the fees and have them work out who to pay and how much.
AdamIf you haven't seen it, MalusCorp is a wonderfully dark satire that feels only a year from becoming reality.
It poses a company who's sole purpose is to use AI to effectively crush #opensource #software #licensing and development. While it intends to be a exaggerated take on the anti-OS stance of some organizations, it might actually stray too close to reality and become a blueprint for a future business model...

- I'd even want to properly #license a #WatchParty because I do think that those that worked on it should get (at least on paper) their residuals (even if it may just be a few cents out of hundreds if not thousands of Euros in #licensing)...

Like it's really frustrating when being honest is punished!
The big difference re: #music is that unlike #movies or a series, is that #licensing, even for #commercial use, is relatively straight-forward.
- Worst-case I send an eMail to #GEMA and request a quote, since they are the one-stop licensing option for music.
- That doesn't exist for #movies nor is there a #FRAND-style licening mandate that would provide #consumers with a fair, reasonable and nondiscriminatory access to a licensed copy to keep for a one-time-purchase.
- Instead the #Copyrightmafia wants to "have their cake and eat it too" by charging huge fees for #BlankMedia whilst criminalizing #Copying directly and indirectly [#DRM circumvention as #felony]!
