Yep, Composer 2 started from an open-source base! We will do full pretraining in the future. Only ~1/4 of the compute spent on the final model came from the base, the rest is from our training. This is why evals are very different. And yes, we are following the license through

This entire #rant shouldn't exist.

It should be with #screenings like with #music in a #club:

You fill out a form
Get a quote by the licensing / collecting agency
You pay it
You get a reciept
- If someone from said collecting agency ever shows up (which they almost never do at licensed events & -locations) you can just show them that and they'll wish you a nice day.

It's not a question that you want to properly #license that stuff…

But there isn't even like an agency / #licensing brokerage one can just contact, maybe pay a premium percentage on top of the fees and have them work out who to pay and how much.
- Cuz with #music in #Germany it's just a matter of "throwing money after #GEMA"…

@kkarhan @GhostOnTheHalfShell I'd happily pay €100 for a #DRM-free (or at least non - #RegionLock'd #bluray copy of #CyberSix (or even just a legal copy of the files)...

- I'd even want to properly #license a #WatchParty because I do think that those that worked on it should get (at least on paper) their residuals (even if it may just be a few cents out of hundreds if not thousands of Euros in #licensing)...
