And, for completeness, here is a clever timelapse video of someone crocheting a caterpillar.

This pattern is my second published shawl, the Long Cuddle Shawl. It uses a slip stitch pattern that creates and extra dense and squishy fabric which, it turns out, is also extra warm. Absolutely perfect for cuddling into on cold days.
Because it’s so squishy, it uses 3 skeins of yarn. The sample was knit in a silk/merino combo from Mountain Colors Yarn.

My happy news of the day is finding my lost woolly hat.
I thought I'd lost it in October when we spent the night on the side of Te Waihora for the aurora. When I noticed it was missing, I'd looked for it with my torch. Turns out that in the aurora excitement I'd accidentally stuffed it down the back of my backpack where the padding is.
My mum made it when I was young. She hand spun the wool and dyed it with natural dyes and knitted it. And it has a pompom!
