Der Unterschied zwischen der geschmeidigen Spätfaser zur derben Grünfaser macht sich deutlich bemerkbar. Die graue Faser lässt sich viel dünner ausspinnen, im Schnitt auf etwa 1/2 mm Breite. Die grüne Faser hat dafür mehr Charakter.
