The other title from this RSD that I really wanted, and was happy to receive early.

Back in 1991, I heard the song “The City Sleeps” on the radio on WBRU.

I was instantly captivated by it, and it took me a long time after that to find it on CD. We’re talking almost a whole year.

Once I got it, I was fully immersed in it for months.
It’s a great hip-hop album with killer instrumentation; sometimes jazzy, sometimes spooky, sometimes just old school sounding hiphop.

They did a great job on this reissue, and the remixes and expanded material is quite interesting.

A horribly under appreciated artist, and a great album.

It pays to know people.

Got ALL of my RSD stuff early, with THIS being the crown jewel.

Some of the “brownest” Ween ever, and for ANY disciple of Gene, Dean AND Boognish, this is pure gold.
Pure. BROWN. Gold.

For me, it’s worth having for the long lost studio sessions recorded in Eindhoven, which has an incredible “Albino Sunburn Girl” and a dope version of “Push th’ Little Daisies”.

According to Dean, the “Live in Basel 1990” portion of this is the best Ween show of all time.
They played in front of one person (their manager) for the majority of the gig, and by the end, there were five.

That’s progress, bro.
