Wet Leg, Moisturizer, 2025 on Domino

Eagerly awaited follow-up to the 2022 self-titled debut album from Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, here joined by Ellis Durand, Henry Holmes, and Joshua Mobarki. Produced by Dan Carey aka Mr. Dan. Great energy, catchy songs, and funny lyrics - no sophomore slump here. Love it from the drop. My copy—via the Record Exchange in Salem MA—is the indie clear vinyl edition.

I'm grateful to have these pictures of that time of my grandma, me Charley Pride and the Chevy II.

57 years ago today, June 14, 1969, Charley Pride debuted at #65 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “All I Have to Offer You (Is Me)”. It went on to peak at #1 and spent a total of 17 weeks on the chart.

Charley Pride’s singing voice just might be the first singing by a male that my baby-ears ever heard. I spent lots of time with my grandma and she loved Country music.

46 years ago today, June 14, 1980, Reba McEntire debuted at #64 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “(You Lift Me) Up to Heaven”. It went on to peak at #8 and spent a total of 15 weeks on the chart.

Reba McEntire’s very first Top 10 hit. Three singles later she chalked up her second Top 10 hit with “Today All Over Again” peaking at #5 for two weeks.

@DenOfEarth
Look what I found, man.

I told you one would show up sooner or later.
They’re far from uncommon around these parts.

If you’re still looking for this, shoot me a message and we can work something out.

Now… about the record for the rest of you:

The Heavy Metal movie blew my mind as a kid.
And it still holds up pretty great in 2026, as I just recently viewed a Blu-Ray copy about 4 months ago.

As far as the soundtrack goes… it’s an odd mix of late #70s and early #80s hard rock, with the sore thumb of Devo’s “Working In A Coal Mine” thrown into the mix.

Delicious delicious nostalgia that may be finding its way to one of my devoted follower’s collections.

Depeche Mode, Construction Time Again, 1983 on Sire / Mute / Reprise

This was the third full length from Depeche Mode, originally released in 1983 on Mute, distributed in the US by Sire. Alan Wilder had joined and wrote two of the songs on the album. (Vince Clarke had departed after the debut album). One of my favorites, including "Love, In Itself," "More Than a Party" and "Everything Counts" just on the A-side. My copy—via Beverly Coin & Jewelry—is a 2014 reissue by Rhino & Reprise pressed at Rainbo - but it sounds great. (Same mastering as the 2007 […]

THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE
Are You Experienced
1979 U.S. reissue

I’ve been wanting to listen to this again for a few weeks now, so tonight is as good a night as any, I guess.

I haven’t heard this album front to back in a VERY long time. Maybe a decade.
There’s probably 1,000 reasons why, but overexposure is probably at the top of the list.

Decades of classic rock radio, commercials, films… the songs have been so overplayed & we’ve been so brow-beaten with them, that’s it’s sometimes easy to forget how UNBELIEVABLE this record is.
Perhaps I go 10 years between listens so that I don’t get COMPLETELY desensitized to it. I don’t ever want to hear these tunes and be indifferent about them, which is something that almost happened about 15 years ago.

After tonight’s spin, I probably won’t take it in front to back for another decade.
And when I do, I’ll still really enjoy it.

HUSKER DU
Zen Arcade
2025 U.S. 2xLP reissue

Saturday night lively.

An absolute magnum opus, and a mind-boggling masterpiece.

It seems a bit cheap to call what Husker Du did “punk”.
It was always so much more than that.

None of their contemporaries were doing what they were doing at the level they were doing it at.
The fury, yes.
But also the melodies, the songwriting, the absolute surgeon-like skill from all three dudes on their instruments.
Not just ONE brilliant songwriter in Mould, but TWO of them, with Grant Hart as well.

A desert island album for me, for sure, and probably the one I re-listen to the most on a year to year basis.

I need to find a replacement OG pressing. Mine is beat to shit from my 30 years of spinning it.
This reissue’s good though.
