I loved the industrial look of that balcony, contrasted by all the plants

Out and About – Random Abstract Shots

Here is a collection of abstract shots of random things I’ve come across while out and about. I’ve been collecting these since 2024 and most were taken around Oslo and further afield in Norway, with a few from our more recent trips to Sweden and Denmark. Only one was taken inside: a shot of pineapple leaves in the kitchen. The set includes a mix of man-made and natural items. Random for sure!

Lovely red color on the walls and ceiling of a public restroom on the National Tourist Route in Kvanndal, Norway Colorful jumping bars for horses leaning against a barn at Søndre Aas Gård in Oslo Another shot in the Kvanndal restroom, this time the lighting A bench in the Bjørvika neighborhood in Oslo — taken long enough ago that they’ve repainted the benches a less-flattering orange color Swaying bush against a colorful wall in Oslo Looking through lichen-covered branches to the water in Kungsparken in Malmö Shapes and colors in concrete at the Petter Dass Museum in Sandnessjøen A buoy on a misty winter morning at Hvervenbukta in Oslo Shapes in the water flowing around a bridge support in Fortun Looking up at a structure in a park in Copenhagen Details of a mountain in Harastølen Concrete supports with graffiti and other details at Hvervenbukta in Oslo Textures on bark in the Botanisk Hage in Oslo Branches of a monkey puzzle tree in Copenhagen A deflated parasol somewhere in Oslo Pineapple leaves next to the kitchen window Concrete shapes in Copenhagen Looking up through teensy tiny “windows” in the ceiling of a parking garage in Copenhagen Ceiling details in the Moderna Museet in Malmö Windows, windows, windows in Copenhagen Wall tiles on the outside of the Petter Dass Museum in Sandnessjøen Dusty wooden slats in Malmö Railing in Malmö Brygge and reflection in central Oslo Part of the Munch Museet reflected in the water in Oslo Curves of a bench at night in Oslo #Abstract #AbstractPhotography #Architecture #Copenhagen #Denmark #Details #Malmö #Norway #Oslo #Photoblog #Photography #Sweden

He is always pictured as an old man with a long flowing beard, and often has a headdress featuring fish holding a ring (which comes from the city's coat of arms).

Father Clyde, the allegorical representation of the river on which Glasgow was built, can be found on a number of Victorian buildings across the city. This includes the Langside Halls near Queen's Park (left), the Clyde Navigation Trust building on Robertson Street (middle), and the Clydesdale Bank building on St Vincent Place (right).
