Yesterday I posted here https://mas.to/@Judeau/116766638552246794 about being unable to source an old driver for a #PocketPC #Belkin #keyboard and I got to witness something quite special.

I had searched everywhere I could think of for the driver. Archive, Wayback, multiple old forums and PPC archives, even some Russian PPC sites and came up empty handed. There were no scans of the driver disc and none on Ebay to purchase.

SOLVED: [email protected] was somehow able to locate this driver! Thank you everyone and I will make a new post in the morning detailing everything and giving proper credit.

The other day I purchased a #Belkin #Keyboard for my PPC.

The model number is F8D0502 and it goes by two different names: SnapNType and Thumb Keyboard.

I have looked everywhere for a driver. I can only locate the manual on Archive and I found the old Belkin driver page on the Wayback but the file was never preserved.

Does ANYONE have access to the driver or the installation CD?

I am specifically needing one for the Dell Axim x50/x51.

ANY help is appreciated.

Hmm. Scored 33/50 on a simplified quiz about PDA, a subtype, I think it’s called, of autism. The full list of traits by this advocate is 155. I haven’t found it, but the quiz is by Sally Cat. Pathological Demand Avoidance btw, or in nicer terms Persistent Drive for Autonomy. Kristy Forbes does good advocacy about it.

I’ve been thinking I don’t have it since I don’t recognise the outward behaviours people describe or remember struggling in some ways as an autistic kid anyway eg falling apart once unmasked, coming home from school. Though I think stress brings more demand avoidance so how I feel now doesn’t necessarily mean I was the same as a kid.

I got quieter and purposely shut up at about 8, until about 30, because other kids’ strong judgy responses to things I said made me anxious, but only so much more that was obvious and memorable (still, enough to diagnose, like my count of how many times I was called quiet in school reports).

Это должен был быть портативный компьютер размером с блокнот, с плоским дисплеем, графическим интерфейсом и ориентацией на обучение. По сути, Кей описал не столько КПК, сколько идеальный персональный мобильный компьютер. Что-то среднее между ноутбуком, планшетом и электронным учебником. Но технологии того времени были абсолютно не готовы к такой роскоши. Процессоры слабые, память дорогая, дисплеи примитивные, аккумуляторы тяжелые. Поэтому Dynabook долго оставался мечтой. Но в 80-е от мечт перешли к делу.

It’s performance evaluation time at work. It hardly seems worth it, considering the anxiety it causes and the little-to-no real upside — based on the reality of many years now.

So me and my #AuDHD brain wind up delaying until there isn’t any extra space or time to let the activity last any longer than is absolutely essential. Call it #PDA, but it minimizes my emotional carnage.

I tried using the AI helper, but I had to cut self-aggrandizing language. Eww.
