Our next #JCON2026 keynote is live: 'Scaling Data in a Sovereign #AI Platform' by Johann Strauss & Markus Kett

In this joint #keynote #Dell AI Factory and #Cyrock.AI show how to build a sovereign AI platform that turns AI strategy into…

@RcrdSgrd Could you tell more details about the device, name / type and hardware configuration (CPU, RAM, GPU, Screen Size).

I had simply more luck 😉 or did something different. Installation and running debian on different machines, new and old ones, from Dell (Desktops and Laptops), Lenovo (Desktops and Laptops), intel nuc (Desktop) and Terra (Laptop), Razer (Laptop) was without any problems.

@emenel very quick search on ways #Dell supports Israeli #apartheid

1. $150+ million Israeli military contract — Won tender in January 2023 to provide servers and services to Israeli defense ministry, other security bodies

2. AI targeting systems for #Gaza genocide — Supplies servers and HPC infrastructure for AI systems #Lavender and The #Gospel that automate Palestinian targeting, minimizing human oversight and accelerating assaults

3. Unit 8200 cyberwarfare support — Provides Dell Pro-Rugged 13 AI-powered laptops to Israel's notorious cyberwarfare force for intelligence gathering, surveillance, and military operations in West Bank

4. Mass surveillance at checkpoints — Supplies servers enabling AnyVision's facial recognition at checkpoints, plus tech for #CISCO Israel and Cognyte to track Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank

5. R&D supporting settlement expansion — Dell subsidiaries partner in National Cyber Park in Naqab, strengthening illegal settlements and displacing Palestinian Bedouin communities

6. CEO pro-Israel donation — Michael Dell donated $350M in shares to Israel one month into Gaza genocide (October 2023), posted photo with Israeli President Isaac Herzog saying "honor to stand with Israel"

7. Elite military unit support — Technology benefits Golani Brigade (implicated in Rafah paramedic murders), Flotilla 13 naval unit, Israeli air force, and #Elbit Systems weapons manufacturer

8. Corporate profiteer designation — #BDS movement lists Dell as priority boycott target in "No Tech for Oppression, Apartheid or Genocide" campaign; called corporate profiteer of occupation, apartheid, and genocide alongside #Google, #Amazon, #Intel, #Microsoft

@aral “London isn’t white anymore” DHH?

... I was never going to buy another #Dell XPS laptop (last one I used was 9360…) because of their pathetic customer service in Europe (refused to replace local keyboard for the international I requested) but this is plain repulsive, like anything with whitesupremacist #DHH name on it. Why does Dell think it’s a good idea? I mean surly there are many techno-fascists using Linux but I’m sure the absolute majority will never buy a Dell again. Any Dell product.

Dell supplies servers and maintenance services to the genocidal Israeli military. The company is ideologically committed to Israel’s ongoing ethnic cleansing of Indigenous Palestinians by establishing research and development activity that attempts to strengthen illegal settlements in the Naqab. Most Dell computers are powered by Intel microprocessors too.

This Black Friday don’t buy into genocide

Avoid these BDS targets enabling Israel’s ongoing genocide against Palestinians on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

BDS Movement

looks like Dell is now the one sponsoring Omarchy and David Heinemeier Hansson, a far-right racist figure:

"this collaboration between Dell, Intel and DHH is about to bring Omarchy on XPS Day One"

from Year of the Linux Laptop: Omarchy on XPS published on the Dell Blog on the 30 april 2026.

reminder that Framework is still sponsoring DHH through Rails World.

DHH and Omarchy: Midlife crisis

Couple weeks ago Cloudflare announced it would be sponsoring some Open Source projects. Throwing money at pet projects of random techbros would hardly be news, but there was a certain vibe behind them and the people leading them. In an unexpected turn of events, the millionaire receiving money from the billion-dollar company, thought it would...

Not that I needed yet another reason to let my current #Dell XPS be my last Dell laptop. But what a terrible decision. And what a bro-laden piece of writing.

Wonder what kind of plastics #Dell used for the #Latitude2100 just touched it again and it is not one of these plastics that becomes sticky nor one of these that just becomes brittle.

It somehow become soft like a hard butter and brittle. (hard to describe, but that's the best I can do. Never seen something like this before)

What is this?!?

Actually, I wanted to use the great summer weather for another hike today, but I got a nasty blister on my toe from the hike yesterday, so I"m chilling a bit.

I wonder how long I can keep this laptop. It's 12 years old by now, and it's perfectly working for me with Linux since day 1.

The only changes I made was replacing the 250GB SSD with a 1TB model a few years ago.

Unfortunately, the battery isnt quite good any more. It's already the 2nd, it's easily replaceable without tools. Just googled and there are some replacement parts still available, maybe I can extend the lifetime of this device by another 6 years.

I have a 2018 #Dell #laptop that came with a 130W brick. It has a ThunderPort-C that allows charging, but when I connect it to my 27" Dell screen it doesn't charge.

Until yesterday, when it spent the whole day happily charging from it.

But then I accidentally hibernated it, and when it came back, the firmware complained that the screen was giving only 65W, that 130W was recommended, and wouldn't charge from it at all again.

Would anyone have the tiniest idea WTF is with all this?

Dell Rewards sends me an email to entice me to use my rewards.

a) I'm pretty sure I don't have any reward available, and

b) More importantly, I'd rather get stabbed in the eye than deal with Dell again.
