Castrovel Inspirational Mwmory
Artist J. Allen St. John (1872 - 1957).
He was one of the first illustrators of ERB's works, including Barsoom/Mars, Amtor/Venus, & Tarzan. If anyone is interested in exploring the roots of Modern Fantasy Art, I strongly recommend including this artist!
I simply find this pic fun! A couple of hunters watching another couple ride by on their dinosoaur steeds. Perfectly normal day on Castrovel, right? "Morning! Any luck? Saw a herd of swiftreavers a while back, but they scattered before we could get a shot. Yeah. We're off to market, and then to stay overnight in the city to catch Treesong tomorrow. Well, later!"
I have no idea what kind of dinosaurs those are supposed to be (given what I've read about the history of paleontology, some of the more creative, early interpretations of fossil evidence have been dramatically revised), nor do I have a proposal as to what kind of ~Qoelu~ that could be on Castrovel, though they're definitely not Shotalashu - too big (although has anyone given thought to Shotalashu being bipedal instead of quadrupeds?) I have speculated that Lashunta may tame & use megafauna for transport & construction, similarly to how many societies use elephants.

SilverGMOne thing I often do when running #Pathfinder2e is have the players encounter a series of non-combat obstacles while tracking how many failures they have; the number of failures makes a following combat encounter harder (example: in an infiltration, failures increase heat, leading to more security in the resulting fight). It's a good way of giving failure consequence without completely derailing the story #ttrpg
