The ring is a piece crafted by Paul Briancon (~1900). The brooch is piece crafted by Pierre Lalique (~1898). Both are examples of Art Nouveau Jewelry.
Lashunta have a complicated history with snakes. Like Humans, many Lashunta see them as objects of fear and danger. Hood-adders, cottonmouths, other poisonous vipers, and boa- and anaconda-like constrictors crawl through the brush and darkfloor, swim through marshes and rivers, and coil like living ropes through the trees, to say nothing of the horsegirth-like ~Qutau~ - Megapythons who vie for dominance of the jungles.
The Lashunta’s oldest legends associate snakes with the ~Moqeva~, the fiendish aliens who still haunt their nightmares and fairy tales, and who hunted the Lashunta’s ancestors, until the Warrior-Queens waged a war of ruthless extermination.
And yet snakes, fangs, and legless tails are found in the iconography of the ~Qoaronae~, the triple war-goddesses of Valmayana, Komena, and Southern Asana, to the point that Vaeol wonders, at the beginning of Part 3, that the goddesses almost seem like ~Moqeva~ deified. Closer to home in the Yaro Valley, snake cults still reign in the Yaro’s marshes and on the Stormshields’ flanks.

My 2026 mission, and yes I am asking for your help. Please share far and wide.
I need names of places & ppl I can work with to put on some sort of IRL exhibit for my #FantasyMiniatures in #Finland. I don't know ppl in #art/ #ttrpg/ #wargaming circles and it only makes sense to do a thing as a group (+splitting possible costs) bc I don't have a lot to show solo. I'm anti- "display style" and want my name shown with the work, so no #MiniaturePainting competitions. (1/2)

If you're curious about super lightweight, super minimalist, high-speed, low-drag, fiction-forward RPGs, then perhaps Ensemble is worth taking a look at.

There has been a microcosm of that debate in #ttrpg / #dnd spaces. A lot of gamers want to move away from the "Designated Bad Guy Races" and portray, say, orcs as people like everyone else.
And predictably, there is a fierce backlash against this from other gamers who claim that "I don't want politics in my gaming!" Which, of course, means that they are comfortable with the politics as they are, and don't want to think about them.
(They also don't want to acknowledge that Gary Gygax, one of the founders of the hobby, was a massive racist and misogynist who baked his assumptions into the game, but that's another story...)
Hmmm… D&D prep is required for Thursday.
The players are in a bit of a sandbox at the moment and I didn’t get a strong sense of next steps. Not sure how I want to set myself up for the plethora of things they could throw my way. 😛
Favourite prep methods, fellow DMs? I could use some inspiration.
