My first full book, made into an #Audiobook for my wife so she can listen to it while she is out and about.
I did use #Kokoro for this and did this locally.

Very happy with the voice, the speech and the cadence. But it is still a generated voice so you can hear it is "robotic" and non-human. But at least my wife can now go over my book and enjoy it =)

As Mrs Author is off in London for a few days with the girls to see the Abba experience I’m free to indulge myself in culinary matters.

So, today, in homage to Benn Gunn it’s going to be a toasted cheese sandwich in line with the sentiments he expressed when asked what he’d missed most whilst marooned, “Well, many's the long night I've dreamed of cheese - toasted, mostly.”

Today in Labor History June 9, 1843: Bertha von Suttner was born (d. 1914). She was an Austrian journalist, author, peace activist and Nobel Prize laureate. She was also a friend of Alfred Nobel, who famously told her that there would not be world peace until a weapon was invented that was so deadly it could annihilate countries in seconds. Some say that it was her activism and advocacy that inspired him to include a peace prize as part of his endowment. Von Suttner wrote “Lay Down Your Arms,” an anti-war novel that made her a leading figure in the Austrian peace movement. However, it was also considered a feminist novel for its characters resistance to accepting traditional gender roles. Tolstoy compared her favorably with Harriet Beecher Stowe.

In #TheGodfather #Novel, there's a fairly long section about Johnny Fontane.

It's a bit dull and a bit repetitive, mentioning sleeping with women about a million times, and I don't really see why it's in the book.

In other news, that section was completely omitted from the Godfather movies.
