Bolt's story as an MC is an SC's version of events already examined by tangential stories from what would be the devil-girl's, Boss Mead's, and the school bully's points of view. Bolt is a criminal who works for the mob because she got herself stupidly blackmailed, but it is her underlying integrity that fascinates me. It made me want to examine what eventually leads to her to impressing the most powerful person in the world and becoming the praetorian for the second most powerful person—who and whom would be spoilers. Bolt is bursting at the seams with flaws and self-doubts you can't help but empathize with, and growing love, which makes her all the more interesting.

#WordWeavers 2025.12.01 — In an alternate universe, you are the opposite of who you are. What's your story like there?

Not sure I could tell the difference considering I'd have been brought up with opposite alternate norms—but when I think about the crap going on in our society today that may explain what's going on! We could be living in an alternate universe and not even know. It might explain why our own world doesn't make a lot of sense!

As for my stories: Consider that I write about sexual and gender politics from a feminist point of view. This question logically means I'd be writing about a fantasy world with the opposite gender issues, with the sexual politics and power shifted more toward what we experience in our reality instead of illustrating what's opposite from an opposite oppressive point of view from what we experience now, as told by me with an opposite body, gender, and POV perspective.

Today in Labor History December 1, 1912: The rustling card system was put into place by the Anaconda Mining and Smelter Company. Rustling cards verified employees’ identities and employment status. The company used spies to identify union agitators and refused them rustling cards and jobs. In 1917, the IWW called a strike at the Anaconda mines around Butte, Montana. They demanded the end of the rustling cards system, and the implementation of the 8-hour day and higher wages. Author Dashiell Hammett served as a Pinkerton strikebreaker in the Anaconda miners’ strike. However, when the Pinkertons enlisted him to assassinate Native American IWW organizer Frank Little, he refused, and quit the agency. On 4/21/1917, guards opened fire on unarmed picketers, killing one and injuring sixteen, while vigilantes lynched Frank Little. Dashiell Hammett depicted the strike in his first novel, “Red Harvest.” André Gide called Red Harvest “the last word in atrocity, cynicism, and horror.”
