Recommending LOOKING FOR THE HIDDEN FOLK by Nancy Marie Brown (S&S) It's nonfiction, a love letter to Iceland. And halfway through it, I am thinking all sorts of interesting things about time, space, quantum physics, and culture.

Also realizing I don't look at time in an Eastern or Western fashion. #bookstodon

New from Jessica Luther, in our magazine: Because #sports have a built-in gender binary at their core, gender-expansive athletes are immediately seen as a threat.

But it's also an opportunity to question our assumptions about #gender and belonging. https://www.texasobserver.org/trans-athletes-inclusion-sports-culture/

#bookstodon Read "Evocation" by S.T. Gibson yesterday after finding the second in the series at my local bookshop. Figured I'd read the first one first.

....I love it. Cover design aside (and that cover design is fantastic), I love the supernatural plot and time with David, Rhys, and Moira. Evocation centered on David, but the chapters do shift perspectives, and the romance build is - messy, emotional, but more honest in a way especially when polyamory and devotion gets involved. #amreading

Finished Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy. Thoughts:

- The magic system is detailed, consistent, and interesting.
- The ending is satisfactory. Often in fantasy the ending seems to come out of nowhere, like a mystery where the detective had clues the reader wasn't shown. The revelations make sense here.
- In this day and age, it's very weird to have only one female major character (even if she is the protagonist).

Managed some errands & chores, despite a lot of tiredness today: no idea if it's just one of those days (I mean, it *is* a Monday after all!), or the cumulative effect of the daily chemo drugs slowing me today.

Decided on a short walk after errands, then pub, seat, drink, & start my book group reading for a while. We're doing The Shining this month, long time since I first read that.
