That looks great! I wear a #MeMade wardrobe almost exclusively now, and have ventured into quilt-as-you-go, so there may be a quilted #MossJacket somewhere in my future!

Of the ten garments I'm wearing today I made five (counting a pair of socks as one garment). My grandmother made a sixth (approx 22 years ago) and my aunt a seventh (approx 18 years ago).
Of the remaining three garments, one was bought second hand, one from an ethical clothing company, and one from a cancer fundraiser.
I'm happy with the direction my wardrobe is moving in. Also I am nice and warm, wearing four wool garments (three knitted, one crocheted) and two of flannelette.

Turned another child's single duvet into clothing. This time a dress from Style Arc (Trinnie using the extension pack options). I need to work on a better way of doing gathers as I'm not a huge fan of how the bottom tier (the longest) turned out. But a good bit of silliness for a wearable toile.

Studio Tunic finally made it out of the WIP pile! I started this months ago but hit a snag when all the neck and armhole facings were 2cm short (at least I am consistent). Switched to bias binding; made my own from a batch of fat quarters I had for a pillow project that never materialized. Seams are Frenched and all the bias binding is understitched. It is sturdy! I'm still not sure about the fit; it's a bit larger than it needs to be but I think it will work with boots and a bit of styling. Made from thrift store linen. I am pleased with this make. I made the most of the long weekend and sewed jersey covers for four yoga bolsters (so soft - I wish I had done this sooner), repaired a tank top, finished the arms holes in a dress I had modified, and repaired a skirt hem.

I have another pattern waiting in the wings and some more second hand fabric in my stash! Onward!

Look at it.
Look at the thing i made. With my own two hands (and a sewing machine). With deadstock fabric from Paris. It's broderie anglaise.
Look at the fit. I self drafted that mofo, that's why. It sits perfectly under the arm, just so you know.
It has a shadow sleeve.
It swooshes.
It's perfect.

I'm never as uncertain as when I'm in the trenches of a sewing project ... and never as confident and euphoric as when it turns out good πŸ˜…

Scrap fabric bucket hat! I've always felt i look a right egg in any hats, but i love the shade they give so i'm gradually getting used to them. This is my first bucket hat ever, self-made or otherwise. Idk maybe it looks okay on my egg head? πŸ˜‚ the hat itself turned out so cute, especially with the broderie anglaise on one side and mint green on the other. It's the free bucket hat pattern from Mood, but with the modification of making it fully reversible.

Lyocell (brand name Tencel) is a wonderful fabric for summer - it's drapey and breathable, with a cool hand. But what exactly is it? In Episode 181: Lyocell/Tencel, we answer these questions, plus much more!

🧡 How does it go from plant matter (usually wood) to finished fabric?

🧡 What is the difference between lyocell/Tencel and rayon?

🧡 What are the best garments to sew with it?

We love this fabric! What have you made from lyocell/Tencel?

Full day at folkeverksted with serger and wonky old coverstitch machine, it will be while before I have time for this again.

Tauko Magazine 12 (sporty issue) had this pattern Kaari. It's fun! Surprising, simple and easy. There's option for short version, too.

Fabric is very drapey bamboo jersey.
The pattern has funny pockets on front, with this fabric they just droop around πŸ˜‚

Those are very cute and they look very comfortable. Like the others have suggested, I love to add a contrasting component somewhere in my #MeMade clothes.
How to cut and press double gauze (without losing those lovely crinkles!):

Step 1: Pre-wash and dry your fabric.

Step 2: Use a steamy iron to remove any major folds. Either lift and set down the iron on those spots (not running it over the fabric) or just use the steam and finger press the big folds out. Try to preserve the crinkly texture as much as you can!

Step 3: Cut out your pattern pieces!

Keeping the crinkles in will give you a better idea of how the final garment will fit. Use your iron minimally, or just finger press it! Part of the beauty of double gauze is crinkliness, so it makes sense to work with it.

@ThunderHoney
Well done, you!! My favourite part of the Studio Tunic was all of the narrow facings, although they were a pain to prep. I made the massive pockets, which initially attracted me to the pattern. However, the whole neckline, armscye, and pocket area were at least 2 inches too low for my liking. My phone regularly gets knocked out of the pockets. I also liked the centre seam, which I just folded into mine, even though I was skeptical. Mine is made from a burgundy used bed sheet, which is a heavy weight. It was excellent learning. Not sure if I'll ever use the pattern again, unlike the Hinterland, which has had 5 iterations already, with more in the queue.

I like scoop patch pockets but I didn't think they would work here. Not a big fan of the placement for the pockets in the pattern so skipped them entirely. It's such an oversized pattern - very in fashion at the moment. I'm thinking of it as a pseudo smock. Hinterland is such a beautiful dress! Empire waists don't suit me but everyone I have seen on others looks fantastic!
@ThunderHoney
I've experimented with it a lot. I made a couple using the full width of fabric for the skirt. They look awesome on the hanger (to me). However, looking at photos of me wearing those. They add too much bulk to an already large frame. I'll probably downsize to the default width on my next make. I also added patch pockets, easiest for around home. I don't love the look, but I greatly appreciate the convenience, so I'll probably keep them. I've also added phone-width patch pockets to lengthened Asthon Tops, and those work out perfectly. I just want #AllThePockets!
Pockets are amazing! I think if I made this again, I do deep inseam pockets. I have two huge pockets already made that I could attach to this but it's so big that I think any weight would create an odd shape. I will wear it around for a bit and see what happens. I love the idea of a phone pocket on the ashton - that's brilliant. My next pattern is the moss jacket - HUGE pockets! I am going to use denim that I found at the thrift store. If I am successful, I have canvas that I would like to make a lined version with.
@ThunderHoney Oh, the Moss Jacket is GREAT, and it’s a shockingly fast make! I’ve made 2 with thrifted fabrics and contrasting yoke and pockets. Like you, I do French seams for my makes. The Moss pockets allow you to lay your phone sideways, so it’s less likely to fall out.
Ohhh, that's good to hear! I'm excited to start it!
