I sing, play lot of instruments.
Mostly tradition music, improvised music.
Backround in dance, theater, films.
<3 folk arts
Often out of spoons.

Just to show for my #sewing friends:
These are magazines available in kiosks in Finland.
My mom literally was like "oh, I'll buy two."

First there is 8-14 sewing patterns, the rest is knitting & crocheting.
(I don't knit 😅 I can, but I won't 😂 I might crochet, tho.)

Suuri Käsityö (or SK for short) looks quite good to me.
Kotilieden Käsityö, at least this issue, didn't inspire as much.
Afaik these are made by locals in (sewing, knitting) industry.

Ca once a year I take a break just for myself, to watch some basketball.
This year I also got some souveniers.

One more #sewing project for this week, and then I'm off of sewing for at least a month.

"Delocalized" hexagon bumbag pattern by Marja Niemi, on Tauko Magazine nro8.

Outer fabric is acrylic coated cotton by Marimekko, it's the classic kitchen tablecloth material that (at least) I grew up with, so I let my mom select it, colours and design.😅

Inner fabric is whatever scraps I had. Everything is interfaced with whatever bag-interfacing Selfmade sold me, also the hooks.
1of2 bags finished😭

It's finished, at least with the #sewing machine, I will do buttons as my evening chore next week.

Optimatium duster coat, pattern by Liz Haywood on Tauko issue9. first #zerowaste pattern I've tried and it's clever imo; pleats on waist, inverted pleat at back, collar, cuffs. Added bust darts because it needed, and bias seam finishing was my choice.

Blue linen-cotton mix I bought year ago for a different project in mind.

Optimatium coat/dress from Tauko9 has now funny square pockets and added bust darts.
("You'd need princess seams" they said "but it would need to be on the pattern" they continued. Ok, I promise learning them this winter.)

It's missing buttons&holes, cuff frills, ironing and finishing.

I am still missing the skill of accurately predicting how many hours a sewing project will take 😅

Bit fuzzy photo for this rainy day... It's halfway done Optimatium duster coat by Liz Haywood from Tauko issue 9. My first try at #zerowastesewing oh man, this is clever pattern!

I had planned another #sewing project for this week, too, now having doubts on my time management skills 😅
Moving took all energy from last 2 months and after this week it's gonna be almost a month before I have time for sewing again.

#ryijy made by my grandmom. She was handcrafter by profession, didn't do much crafting at retirement, but after she turned 85 she decided to do one ryijy to each of us grandkids.

yesterday I got to wear this ☝️ bamboo jersey top in 31°C, start of what was promised as 5 day extreme heat wave. By far, the most comfortable garment I've sewn & worn. Even more comfortable than my linen dresses, and those are great when it's 20-something°C.
In this heat, my body goes into strange chaos, where clothes cause pain & irritation, it's quite important to ease that sensation.

Full day at folkeverksted with serger and wonky old coverstitch machine, it will be while before I have time for this again.

Tauko Magazine 12 (sporty issue) had this pattern Kaari. It's fun! Surprising, simple and easy. There's option for short version, too.

Fabric is very drapey bamboo jersey.
The pattern has funny pockets on front, with this fabric they just droop around 😂

Pattern "Leppälintu" from #Nuppunen5 /Nuppuzine5, by Nuppu Print Company.
Their organic cotton jersey "Ihmeellinen meri" which is again poem by Edith Södergran ("Det underliga havet" 1916, "Ihmeellinen meri" 1929 translation Uuno Kailas)

Dress has simple side-seam pockets.
Top part of this is sporty top which can be sewn as itself without dress-part.
