if its not possible to quickly reduce #CarDependency (and realistically it is not), nor build the #NorthernBypass - then there's a real need to further encourage #FlexibleWorking and more people to move away from 9-5 working hours - all these crashes seem to happen around rush hour, whereas same #A14 highway is a lot quieter in afternoons and evenings (there's still lorries, but they are more spread out and not so many bottlenecks at the junctions)

Multiple bottles of #prosecco yeeted into live lanes of #M4 #motorway and a container knocked from a #lorry following a #collision - one lorry #driver #arrested on suspicion of using a #mobilePhone at the wheel. There were only minor injuries, but the clean up will take a good few hours!
Good work by #lorry driver - keeping occupants of small car that has broken down on "smart" #motorway safe and calling nines so #Police and #NationalHighways are aware - it took 5 mins on 999 call, and 13 further minutes for National Highways to arrive on scene, and #drivers are barely noticing stationary lorry (further ahead the matrix sign is showing "national speed limit", which suggests there has already been a restriction on previous signs so drivers are likely trying to accelerate to get back to 70mph (112 km/h)
These smart #motorways are not safe (thankfully there are no further ones being built)

Cuilfail@tompearce49 Chapeau!There are some great hgv drivers out there. I think the #log #lorry drivers are the best - they get a lot of flack, but the best of them can do as you describe, but in the forest, on narrow, steep, tight geometry, very few passing places, unmade up roads, often riddled with potholes. No roadsigns and often only poor mapping. Tramping (overnighting in the cab) is often required. It's amazing our #timber gets to the mills sometimes!

jerI found out that #tomtom now has an "Expert" (#lorry, #truck ) version of their #go app decoupled from those tablets they used to offer the "pro" version of the #android app on.
I am interested in disentangling myself from #googlemaps. Could anyone share their experience with the Tomtom app?
