As an IT Manager, sometimes the issue when I'm trying to help someone with an IT problem is that they don't know how to describe the problem in a meaningful way, or they don't understand what I mean when I ask them about the problem or explain how to fix it.

In those cases, it's on me to try to find a middle ground, a shared language we can use so that each of us can understand the problem from the other side. It can be challenging, but I work hard to try to communicate plainly, clearly, and patiently.

Other times, they just don't listen to a word I say, and then I wonder why I even bother to try.

Slightly sad day; due to #unemployment, I've ended up canceling a bunch of recurring subscriptions to various things (newspapers, Patreons and so forth). I fully intend to renew them all when money's coming in again, but until then, it's tighten-the-belt time.
