Released a new version of OpenVitals, open source Android app for exploring Health Connect data locally, without accounts, cloud , ads, or analytics.

It now covers more health areas, including hydration, nutrition, mindfulness, expanded activity data, heart & vitals, and opt-in menstruation cycle tracking. I also added Metric/Imperial unit preferences, better permission handling, improved charts, and a more complete dashboard experience.

OpenVitals 0.3.1 Fix chart rendering in month and year views across metrics. Fix hydration totals from Health Connect hydration records and apply unit preference changes immediately. Disable the Settings permission request button when all visible permissions are granted.

Wer hat Erfahrungen mit "Google Health Connect" unter GrapheneOS?

Die App TK-Coach kann drauf zugreifen und die API wird wohl von GrapheneOS auch bereitgestellt, es kommt ein Berechtigungsdialog.

ich habe Schrittzähler-Apps getestet, die wohl auch via Aktivitäten-Berechtigung melden (können), aber bei TK-Coach kommt nichts an.

Ich teste hier im Profil ohne Google Sandbox, das sollte gehen oder?

Google Fit has been deprecated in Android beta. Apps have to use Health Connect. Garmin suddenly worked out of the box (never worked with Google Fit and required side paid application for sync – Health Sync).

First time Google made things better by killing it's own app

Die Logik hinter der neuen Fitbit-Integration muss man nicht verstehen, oder @schlingel ? 🤨

Meine Beurer-Waage synct das Gewicht perfekt via HealthConnect zu Fitbit. Aber: Auf dem „Heute“-Dashboard taucht der Wert nicht auf. Dort werden stur nur manuelle Einträge angezeigt.

Wer die Daten sehen will, muss tief im „Du“-Tab graben. Warum macht Google die zentrale Übersicht so unbrauchbar? Datensilos einreißen sieht anders aus. ❌

While in big tech #enshittification continues full force, I am stoked that support for write access to #HealthConnect in #Android has just been merged in @gadgetbridge nightly builds. Works great already. Fixes and fine-tuning are already in the making.

And as a cherry on top this (unrelated) minor nuisance just got addresed: codeberg.org/Freeyourgadget/Gadgetbridge/issues/5305

Love you guys - great work and as a user it is fantastic to have options. I get Health Connect is not for everybody, but there also is a ton of legit and great use-cases that allows users to make the most out of their #Health data.
