Aside from numbers and some common words, I was surprised by the similarities in #French and #Hindi in a wide variety of unrelated words like:

youth = jeunesse = जवानी
dead = morte = मृत्
because = car = कारण
glow = lueur = लौ
given = donne = दान
thus/thereby = ainsi = ऐसे/ऐसी
people = gens = जन
…

and many more
