Il 63enne, cittadino romeno, è stato sottoposto a un intervento chirurgico per rimuovere il chiodo e si trova ora ricoverato sotto sorveglianza. Non appena le sue condizioni lo permetteranno, sarà trasferito nel carcere della Dozza per scontare la pena residua.

A version that investigators are now trying to verify, as reported by the newspaper Il Resto del Carlino. When the agents from the Santa Viola police station arrived at the hospital, the 63-year-old reiterated what he had already told the doctors, but his account appeared fragmented and unclear, also due to his physical condition. Therefore, the hypothesis that he may have been attacked is not ruled out. Una truffa legata al trading online, costruita su promesse di facili guadagni, è stata scoperta tra la Sardegna e la Sicilia grazie alla denuncia di un cittadino di Sassari. Le indagini, condotte dalla Guardia di finanza di Enna e dalla Squadra mobile della Questura, hanno portato alla denuncia di un uomo di origine rumena residente a Valguarnera Caropepe, in provincia di Enna.
La vittima, attratta da una piattaforma di trading che pubblicizzava investimenti altamente redditizi, era stata convinta a iscriversi e a iniziare a versare denaro. In una prima fase, il sistema sembrava funzionare: i guadagni virtuali mostravano una crescita rapida, fino a raggiungere circa 27mila euro.
Ma al momento di ritirare il denaro, il presunto broker avrebbe chiesto ulteriori versamenti, giustificandoli come necessari per “sbloccare” i profitti accumulati. Fidandosi, l’uomo ha effettuato nuovi bonifici verso un conto corrente indicato dall’intermediario. Dopo l’ultimo pagamento, però, ogni contatto si è interrotto: nessuna risposta e nessuna possibilità di recuperare i soldi investiti.

An online trading scam, built on promises of easy profits, was uncovered between Sardinia and Sicily thanks to a report by a citizen from Sassari. Investigations conducted by the Guardia di finanza of Enna and the Mobile Squad of the Questura led to the arrest of a Romanian-born man residing in Valguarnera Caropepe, in the province of Enna.

The victim, attracted by a trading platform that advertised highly profitable investments, had been convinced to sign up and start depositing money. In a first phase, the system seemed to be working: virtual gains showed rapid growth, reaching approximately 27,000 euros.

But when it came time to withdraw the money, the alleged broker requested further deposits, justifying them as necessary to “unlock” the accumulated profits. Trusting him, the man made new transfers to a current account indicated by the intermediary. However, after the last payment, all contact was cut off: no response and no possibility of recovering the invested money.
