Ich habe mich diese Woche mal ein wenig in das Rabbit-Hole von #Grocy begeben. Insgesamt super cool und super mächtig. Das man aber erst alle Artikel scannen und anlegen muss empfand ich als abschreckend. Daher habe ich mal schnell eine Erweiterung für den Browser gebaut mit der man die wichtigsten Daten Lebensmittel direkt aus der Open Food Facts Datenbank in seine Grocy-Installation importieren kann.

- I didn't check how translations are done, I just put the strings somewhere the others of that area were already 🤷
- I tried to make the lines I added conditions to more readable by stretching it over multiple lines 🤔
- I could have tried to extend the existing popup, yes. I just poked around in the PHP trying to make it do what I wanted with what was there already 🙃

I came across a limitation, searched & found a 5 year old open issue with exactly this as feature request.
- 5 years old
- no big discussion
- no will/won't/can't do statement from the dev
- 6 months old closed duplicate (without any comment either)
So I was just interested, if there's any hope if this is being considered at all, or what's the state for it🤷

Gestern mal mit der #Grocy Demo im Webbrowser am Telefon rumgespielt.
Nicht so ganz die beste Erfahrung, tbh 🤨
Problem ist, dass am Smartphone auf der Weboberfläche viele Touch-Eingaben falsch interpretiert werden, was zu nicht gewolltem Verhalten führt.
Muss das mal am Rechner testen und mit der App 🧐
Was ich mit #HomeAssistant noch so machen könnte:
- am Vorabend der Müllabfuhr eine Lampe in der Farbe des jeweiligen Mülls leuchten lassen, bis ich bestätigt habe, den Müll rausgestellt zu haben
- meine Lebensmittelvorräte verwalten (auch wenn mich der Einrichtungsaufwand von #Grocy oder #Pantrist aktuell noch davon abhält)
Diese Woche geht es bei @ajfriesen und mir um neumodische Rezeptverwaltung bis hin zur Eskalation. Darüber hinaus reden wir über Home Assistant Installationen und Proxmox Evangelismus.

The reason reason I have this printer set up is for printing the shopping list. Printing from bash is a fun side effect of having a printer on MQTT.
When you hit the button it publishes a message. A service on the server polls #grocy for the current shopping list and publishes it out onto the print topic.
