Second fucking time Joplin wiped my notes because a glitch marked it as untitled.
Sorry I have to tag this it is a reproducing bug that could be detrimental to user.

Okay, after years on #Joplin as my primary notes app, I'm finally considering switching to #Obsidian. It's *at least* as fully featured, and there's a plugin that lets me do self-hosted sync like I've been doing for years.
Here's the missing component I'd like help with: I want to find a *truly* self-hosted option to publish my notes on Obsidian. With my current Joplin server, I can click "Publish note" in the user interface and have an easily-sharable link to send to whomever wants it. That note is hosted on a server that's fully under my control. Doing this with Obsidian seems like it will require a decent amount of hacking-around to get working properly.
Do y'all have any good options here?
(I'll put some specifics in a reply below, so if you're gonna respond and not just boost, please read those first!)
Joplin can help you stay organized - but only if you use it consistently.
Structure creates focus.

I'm veering away from #Joplin because I'm not clear if there is a useable web app. There's a beta repo last updated 2yrs ago, but I don't see the source in the main packages directory. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?
The point of self hosting is somewhat lost if you have to use their native apps, particularly on mobile, especially now Google is enclosing Android.
Important goals for me are privacy and avoiding enshitification traps which are rapidly worsening.

My full write up of getting the hell off of Evernote before I was hit with a huge price increase that was scheduled for later this month:

(I tried out Joplin and Obsidian before making a leap.)
Though my pain is far less than the team and enterprise users affected by the price increase. They are being hit *hard*.
