In some parts of #HomeAssistant I mixed YAML and Jinja2.
Today, in #ESPHome, I mixed YAML with C/C++.
Hard to tell which was worse.

I experimented with Claude and Home Assistant to update my dashboard with network monitoring cards for my Unifi router and access points.
I also asked Claude to document the process in a blog post at https://lab.schoonens.nl/posts/homeassistant-network-monitoring/ for future reference.
Flightradar made some changes to their bot protection on their cloudflare endpoint, so my usual polling of the area outside my window for #HomeAssistant and the Tidbyt stopped working due to getting rate limited.
Interestingly, I have another zone configured with this integration around the Taskmaster house, but this one is not getting rate limited.
Developer theorized that LHR is such a busy area that it h as more caching than SAN, so polling that data is not triggering protection vs the less cached area for SAN.
I was tracking SAN departures and arrivals, but I don't really use that a lot, so I turned that off, and I also added an automation to turn off the API polling for my SAN area from midnight to 5 am to try to cut down on requests. I also changed the polling interval from 30s to 60s.
Sounds funny, give it a try 😁

Very much enjoying that you need to use Zigbee2MQTT to get decent zigbee support for devices you want to use in Home Assistant and that the link between Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT is as coherent and stable as ol’ Musky on a ketamine binge.
Yes, “enjoying”.
