Nicely condensed what lies at the core of the European Migration and Asylum Pact (GEAS):
"The most uncomfortable truth about the Migration and Asylum Pact isn’t that it marks a far-right takeover of Europe. It’s that ideas once seen as fringe are now finding a home at the political centre of EU politics. In the end, this pact may not be remembered as a solution to Europe’s migration challenges, but as a milestone in the slow erosion of the very values Europe has long claimed as its own."
And make no mistake - possessing the citizenship of an European nation state is no guarantee for being eternally safe from incarceration and deportation. We have witnessed how easily even naturalized US-citizens can run into the trap of a racist system that criminalizes humans by the color of their skin and strips them from their basic rights.
As new wars loom, the climate catastrophe goes on unhindered and many people in the world already suffer from material scarcity in life sustaining goods
no one knows what will happen if a state of emergency is declared.
People could very well be selected following social, medical or even ethnic criteria.
For those who have nothing left than naked life (Homo sacer) the structures and institutions who will manage your existence will already be in place, trained and perfectioned by GEAS.
