The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation’s Department of Meteorology has forecast rainfall, thunderstorms, and potential flash floods and power outages in 18 provinces of the country for Wednesday.

According to a statement from the ministry, there is a high probability of relatively heavy rainfall and flash floods in the provinces of Badakhshan, Takhar, Kunduz, Parwan, Panjshir, Baghlan, Samangan, Balkh, Bamyan, Maidan Wardak, Sar-e Pol, Faryab, Ghor, Khost, Logar, Kunar, Nuristan, and Nangarhar.

Sources indicate that rainfall levels in various parts of these provinces are expected to range from 10 to 30 millimeters.

The ministry has also issued a warning regarding strong winds, dust devils, and dust storms in the central, northern, southeastern, southern, and western provinces, noting that wind speeds will range from 50 to 90 kilometers per hour in various areas.

The Interim Procurement Commission, chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, has approved 15 projects worth approximately 4.2 billion Afghanis.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office stated in a press release that 31 projects were presented for approval at the meeting. Following discussion, 15 projects were approved, while 7 others require further modifications.

The approved and modified projects include the completion of geological studies for the Zardalu Dam in Ghazni province, the construction of a 14-kilometer road near Hayratan Port in Balkh province, the construction of a road from the end of the first lot of the Kabul-Logar highway to Sang-e-Noštah, and the construction of general hospitals in the districts of Lolahash in Faryab, Andar in Ghazni, Kajran in Daikundi, Bal-e-Murgab in Badghis, Khamard in Bamyan, and Musa Khel in Khost. The projects also include the completion of remaining work on electricity supply and distribution projects in various provinces.

According to the source, the approved projects will be funded by the Islamic Emirate.
