Tecnici ancora al lavoro sui provvedimenti che venerdì approderanno sul tavolo del Consiglio dei ministri. La riunione, non ancora ufficialmente convocata, dovrebbe tenersi alle 19 e affrontare un pacchetto di misure che spazia dall'energia ai ristori per l'autotrasporto, fino agli interventi per l'emergenza frana di Niscemi. Tra i dossier più urgenti c'è quello relativo alle accise sui carburanti. Il taglio attualmente in vigore scade infatti venerdì 22 maggio: oggi lo sconto vale 24,4 centesimi al litro sul diesel e 6,1 centesimi sulla benzina. Il governo è al lavoro per individuare nuove coperture che consentano di prorogare la misura ed evitare ulteriori rincari alla pompa: senza un nuovo intervento, infatti, la benzina potrebbe tornare ad avvicinarsi ai 2 euro al litro, mentre il diesel rischierebbe di superare quota 2,20 euro. Nel decreto, ha annunciato il ministro dell'Economia Giancarlo Giorgetti, "ci saranno interventi a sostegno dell'autotrasporto, del trasporto pubblico locale, cerchiamo di prolungare fino alla prima settimana di giugno gli interventi sul taglio delle accise" e "di intervenire sull'ex Ilva di Taranto".
Il titolare del Mef l'ha definito "un provvedimento tampone" nella speranza che si sblocchi il negoziato con la Ue. Sul fronte dell'autotrasporto, venerdì pomeriggio è previsto un confronto diretto tra l'esecutivo e le rappresentanze del settore. L'incontro si terrà alle 16.45 a Palazzo Chigi, convocato dalla Presidenza del Consiglio. Alla riunione parteciperà una delegazione governativa guidata dalla premier Giorgia Meloni, con il vicepremier e ministro delle Infrastrutture Matteo Salvini, il ministro dell'Economia Giorgetti, il viceministro Edoardo Rixi e il consigliere Stefano Caldoro. Sul tavolo ci saranno le richieste del comparto, che da settimane sollecita misure per compensare l'aumento dei costi energetici e garantire sostegno alle imprese del trasporto merci. "I rischi di un aumento" dei carburanti "ci sono, adesso anche come governo cercheremo di intervenire in Cdm dopo aver ascoltato gli autotrasportatori che sono una parte importante di coloro che subiscono e stanno subendo un danno forte a causa della chiusura di Hormuz" ha affermato il vicepremier e ministro degli Esteri, Antonio Tajani.

One of the most urgent dossiers is the one concerning excise duties on fuels. The current discount expires this Friday, May 22nd: today the discount is 24.4 cents per liter on diesel and 6.1 cents on gasoline. The government is working to identify new funding to extend the measure and avoid further price increases at the pump: without a new intervention, gasoline could return to approaching 2 euros per liter, while diesel could risk exceeding 2.20 euros. In the decree, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti announced, “there will be interventions to support the trucking industry, local public transport, we are trying to extend until the first week of June the interventions on the discount on excise duties” and “to intervene on the former Ilva of Taranto.”
