The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation’s Department of Meteorology has forecast rainfall, thunderstorms, and potential flash floods and power outages in 18 provinces of the country for Wednesday.

According to a statement from the ministry, there is a high probability of relatively heavy rainfall and flash floods in the provinces of Badakhshan, Takhar, Kunduz, Parwan, Panjshir, Baghlan, Samangan, Balkh, Bamyan, Maidan Wardak, Sar-e Pol, Faryab, Ghor, Khost, Logar, Kunar, Nuristan, and Nangarhar.

Sources indicate that rainfall levels in various parts of these provinces are expected to range from 10 to 30 millimeters.

The ministry has also issued a warning regarding strong winds, dust devils, and dust storms in the central, northern, southeastern, southern, and western provinces, noting that wind speeds will range from 50 to 90 kilometers per hour in various areas.

A pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, built with a $3 million investment in Herat's industrial zone, produces 60,000 serums daily, playing a key role in the country's domestic pharmaceutical production.

The factory's director stated that they manufacture more than 40 types of high-quality medicines, with products delivered to all 34 provinces.

Meanwhile, the head of the Herat Chamber of Mines and Industries told the media that the ban on Pakistani medicines has had a positive impact on pharmaceutical factories in Herat.

According to reports, the facility has also created direct employment for 250 people.

The Afghanistan Standards and Quality (ASQ) Agency has signed a contract with the TCRC company worth $46 million to construct an administrative complex for advanced laboratories in nine ports and centers of the country.

According to reports, these laboratories will include electrical, textile, and construction sections, and the construction work will be completed in five years.

The ASQ Agency stated that upon completion of this project, the production, import, and use of substandard goods will be prevented in the country, and effective steps will be taken to promote standard goods.

Furthermore, traders, industrialists, and citizens will be provided with excellent facilities for quality confirmation and monitoring.

On the night of last Monday, four members of a family – a father, mother, and two sons – were killed by unknown gunmen in the Hasarak area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Logar provincial capital.

The Logar provincial administration announced that the perpetrators of the family’s murder have been arrested.

The provincial administration stated that the arrested individuals have confessed to the crime and claim the motive was theft.

The perpetrators, in their confessions, said that the family recognized them upon entering the house and killed them to eliminate evidence.

Sources added that the case file of the perpetrators has been submitted to judicial and legal authorities for the implementation of Sharia punishments.
