Pressure to gloss over risks because time is of the essence is a red flag.🚩

When observing large-scale phenomenon methodology matters and jumping to conclusions is reckless. As observation affects the system being observed—how you observe and what you observe matter.

One of the greatest #fallacies en currant due to the Internet and Social Media is "false precision". Also see "Texas Sharpshooter" #fallacy

Excellent video showing how #CharlieKirk was "debatting". Basically, a #dogwhistle , followed by minimizing statements, then a #dogpile of #fallacies and actual lies, all of it expressed in a very sure, assertive and autoritative tone, to give the illusion of #calm , #reasonable and founded claims, which will literally take 10 times as much time to debunk as it was nessary to state them. This is not #debate . This is pure #Goebbels -like #manipulation and #propaganda.

"When people hear the word bias, many if not most will think of either racial prejudice or news organizations that slant their coverage to favor one political position over another. Present bias, by contrast, is an example of cognitive bias—the collection of faulty ways of thinking that is apparently hardwired into the human brain."

Cognitive Biases and the Human Brain

Science suggests we’re hardwired to delude ourselves. Can we do anything about it?

Cognitive Fallibility in Human Intelligence (and in AI)

Whether AI matches or surpasses human intelligence is an odd question. When AI systems finally mimic human performance, we blame them for humanlike cognitive fallacies.

Logical fallacies: Seven ways to spot a bad argument

When people are trying to persuade you, they sometimes reach for tricks like the 'appeal to ignorance' or 'whataboutism' to seem more convincing.
