People whose authority comes from Force seem to believe their authority comes from Expertise because they like to use force against the experts who know enough to tell them their authority is illegitimate.

If your authority comes only from people being in fear of their lives for disagreeing with you, it's illegitimate. If they fear for their livelihoods, for their communities, if they fear speaking truth to power, then it's the power-broker's violence (implicit or explicit) that proves the power-brokers "correct" but "might" doesn't actually "make right," you can disappear everyone who insists the sky is blue when you say it's green but the next day a child will be born who says "Why do you call it green when it's obviously blue?" the truth will eventually come out, the violent imposition of Order is temporary and only causes Disorder to increase. Chaos is the natural state of the universe, but those who benefit from the Order imposed by Force want you to fear chaos more than you fear their violence and disorder, their narrative is tidy and orderly and the truth they fight is chaotic. They want you to join them in using force and supporting their illegitimate authority, and they might reward you for it with a job or a certain community, but if you threaten their narrative they will turn on you and threaten your livelihood.

It's happened before, it is happening again. Time is becoming a flat circle as the contradictions try to hold their ground against inevitable change.
