🧠⚡ Why are developers so drawn to complexity and novelty?

At Nebraska.Code() Arthur Doler explores boredom, hype cycles, developer psychology, and the “dark bargain” at the heart of modern software engineering in this thought-provoking Nebraska.Code() session.

Today I tried to connect to a nearby Mac from my cmux terminal via ssh. It failed. I checked all network settings on my Mac and the remote Mac. Everything was fine. After 2h of searching and testing it turned out that the cmux app wasn’t granted the system permission to access local network 🤦‍♂️#macos #cmux #developerlife #terminal
🐍 Beware the mighty "Mini Shai-Hulud," devouring npm packages like a snack! 🍿 Apparently, "314" is the new "317," but who’s counting in the world of open-source chaos? 🤷‍♂️ Just another day in the life of developers pretending they can control the uncontrollable. 🙃

Let's say you create an API, with openAPI....
And you want to provide the same results as the APi as a library, instead of REST calls.
Is there an easy way to "provide" it?
I remember back in the time was a swagger code-gen.
I'm thinking about providing an API but providing it as an library in PHP/JS/Java/Python or whatever is needed.
(If possible, writing the API in Kotlin)

How is this done nowadays? Any hints welcome, thx.

Oh look, @rust bans certain opinions about LLMs

No comment on this PR may mention the following topics:

  • Long-term social or economic impact of LLMs
  • The environmental impact of LLMs
  • Anything to do with the copyright status of LLM output. We have gotten initial confirmation from US lawyers that LLM output likely doesn't cause issues under US law. We still need to confirm this with EU lawyers and in other parts of the world.
  • Moral judgements about people who use LLMs

@Athena in heated discussions

I know it means little to nothing, but I applaud people who dares to say "Fuck you!" to LLM grifters
