The software industry: annealing, but wrong
Is open source licensing meaningful anymore, or are we just left with public domain?
What are the legal distinctions between GPL, Apache, and MIT when AI companies and LLMs ignore standard copyright boundaries? There's no license text that will stop the automated, industrial-scale extraction machine.

Engineering voice agents: Latency, quality, and scale β Rishabh Bhargava, Together AI

It's funny how programming as a field actively goes against best practices from other disciplines.
Mathematics moved from solving problems using natural language to more abstract but more expressive notations. This enabled mathematicians to solve harder and harder problems as they developed more powerful formalisms.
Programming had the advantage of starting from the solid foundation of abstract mathematics of the early 20th century. And now some programmers are excited to go back to stating problems in natural language.
Sometimes I wonder if programming will ever go from being a craft to being a proper discipline.
