Last week the kids and I went to the Norwegian Laft Hus festival in Red Deer. I highly recommend it. Great food, interesting heritage displays, and enthusiastic participants.

Crossfield, Alberta, Canada. Iconic prairie scene with train and grain elevator. There can't be too many of these left, and it's unclear if this particular one is still being used. Apparently, there were six wooden elevators here in the 1960s alone.
