• I would've already tested @OS1337 against #BrailleScreens and #Screenreader devices if I had the necessary hardware...

And basically I think that terminals are like the furthest far back anyone would want to go with comfortably these days, as noone would want the noise and inconvenience of a #teletype - much less the #privacy & #InfoSec issues when everything is printed on plaintext paper...

Not to mention #SSH is #convenient yet #secure and an 80x25 MDA terminal is easy to digest for both #BrailleScreens and #TTS systems...

Leider (!!!) sind all diese Argumente korrekt!

• #Apple-Hardware ist absurd #paywalled und wer auf #Accessibility angewiesen ist denen würde ich von nem #Hackintosh abraten.

• #Linux muss in Sachen #Barrierefreiheit noch vieles besser machen!

• Selbst #Braillescreens für 80x25 Terminal-Ausgabe sind extrem teuer und quasi unbezahlbar (sonst hätte ich mir schon 1 geholt um @OS1337 gegenzutesten!)...

• Die meisten Accessibility-Verbesserungen und -Projete seitens #Firmen die mir bekannt sind basieren auf gesetzlichen Vorgaben wie "must-offer' #Basisdienste wo denen die @BNetzA und andere Regulierer in den Nacken atmen und sagen dass die das #barrierefrei machen müssen - nicht weil diese einsehen dass #barrierearmut und #Benutzerfreundlichkeit sowie #Kundenservice an sich gute Dinge sind!

Weil zumindest nen CLI-/TUI-Iterface samt Anwendungen wie #LynxBrowser sollten machbar sein...

@razze I disagree because #JavaScript violates basic security standards and should be, like #VBA #macros, #OOXML and #Windows-#Executeables be deemed inacceptable.

If in doubt, test your website with #LynxBrowser 1 2 over Iridium speeds (@ 2400 bit/s) and with #TorBrowser in it's strictest security settings (no #JS allowed!) and then tell me that's accessible, because in many #eReaders and applianced #BrailleScreens and #TTS devices you'll only have the output of #Lynx as #Browser and not everyone has even #2G speeds available.

Otherwise you may fall into the trap of "#EliteProjection" in that you assume that everyone has as good of an access to tech, broadband, #TechLiteracy and means to use them as we have them.

Which is my point of criticism all along!

And yes, #accessibility starts with YOUR #TechStack!

• Because it should just work with #BrailleScreens and #Terminals!

Because it just spits out 9600/8/N/1 and a #VGA #Console over #BIOS interrupts, it can be made super-accessible.

• I sadly don't have hardware to test it on but if anyone has, please feel free to do so and provide feedback.

Same reason I use #bash for OS/1337 build scripts: #KissPrinciple makes it more #accessible and easier to reproduce!

@neptune22222 maybe consider just plain #HTML + #CSS?

If your site doesn't need interactivity, then there's no need for #JavaScript, becausr if you want it #accessible you need it to 100% work in #LynxBrowser or anybother #TUI-based Browser because #BrailleScreens and #TextToSpeech systems will most likely only support these.

Not to mention being able to surf it #narrowband (regardless if #Iridium or #EDGEland) with no images beibg loaded should still yield a good experience...
